Aquifer
A code or concatenation of codes identifying the aquifer(s) in which a water well has been completed. See Aquifer Monitored Codes on the Code Definitions page.
Cased to (m)
Maximum depth, in metres, at which the casing strings end. The minimum diameter (mm) is also shown.
Obtained from the latest well construction event.
Class
Identifies the class (or type) of the well. A well may have multiple classes. See also Well or Monitoring Point Classification Codes on the Code Definitions page.
Date (EC/TDS)
Date on which the latest salinity (EC/TDS) was measured.
Date (SWL/RSWL)
Date on which the latest SWL and RSWL were measured.
Hundred
Name of the Hundred in which the well is located.
Latest Open Depth, Date
The last known depth (metres) and the date it was observed.
Latitude
Latitude south (GDA94) at which the well is located, shown in two forms:
  • Degrees, Minutes and Seconds (decimal)
  • Decimal Degrees
Longitude
Longitude north (GDA94) at which the well is located, shown in two forms:
  • Degrees, Minutes and Seconds (decimal)
  • Decimal Degrees
Maximum Depth, Date
The maximum depth (metres) to which the well has been drilled and the date of the drilling activity.
MGA Easting
Map Grid of Australia Easting (GDA94), in metres, of the well location.
MGA Northing
Map Grid of Australia Northing (GDA94), in metres, of the well location.
MGA Zone
Map Grid of Australia Zone (GDA94) in which the well is located.
Name
Name of the well, if available.

Also shown on the Water Chemistry tab as the name of the chemical (analyte) corresponding to the chemical code.
Network(s)

Code identifying one or more observation networks to which the well is associated, if applicable.

Obswell No.

Unique code identifying the water well as an observation well, i.e. monitored for water levels. An observation well is associated with the relevant Obswell Network.

Not all water wells are observation wells.

Original Drilled Depth, Date
Maximum depth (metres) of the well when it was originally drilled, and the date on which it was drilled.
Parcel
Parcel type and number in which the well is located.
Permit No.
Well construction permit number applicable to the drilling/contruction activity.
The Summary details show only the last permit number issued.
Plan
Plan type and number in which the drillhole is located
Previous/Next
Available when multiple wells are found. Click to navigate to the details of the previous or next well.
Ref Elev (m AHD), Date

Reference Elevation in meters AHD (Australian Height Datam) and the date on which the elevation was measured. This is the height above sea level, of the reference point for the well.

The Summary details shows only the latest observed Ref Elev and date.

RSWL (m AHD)
Reduced Standing Water Level measured in meters AHD (Australian Height Datum). The elevation of the water level is calculated by subtracting the Depth to Water (DTW) from the reference elevation. A negative value indicates that the water level is below mean sea level.
The Summary details shows only the latest observed RSWL reading and date.
SWL (m)
Standing Water Level (meters) recorded for the water well. This is the distance from the ground surface to the water surface. A negative value indicates that the water level is above ground level.
The Summary details shows only the latest observed SWL and date.
TDS (mg/L)
Measured Total Dissoved Solids of the water sample recorded for the water well.
The Summary details shows only the latest observed value and date.
