Flood Studies
To view a flood map you can either:
  • Click on a study name in the right hand column and click on one of the layers for that study. When the Auto Zoom Map box is ticked, the map will automatically zoom to the extent of the selected map layer
  • Use the search feature in the boxes directly above the map and either type in an address and selecting the correct address in the drop down box, choose a Suburb or choose a Council Area
  • Click on any point of the map and a text box will appear with flood studies at that location
Predicted flood depth is available for some flood map layers by clicking on a location on the map

  10. Flood studies and mapping such as those used on this website are based on an imprecise science which may involve unstable and/or unpredictable variables and as such, is limited in its accuracy and applicability.
  11. The absence of data on this website for an area of South Australia does not mean that flood risk is absent in this area. Such locations may still be at risk from flood, but mapping is unavailable or has yet to be undertaken/completed for this area.
  12. The flood studies used in the creation of this website differ in their purpose, time of creation, author and the parameters used to produce the study. Each study on this website is therefore different in the level of accuracy, detail and type of data they contain.
  13. The risk of flood at any given location is dynamic and will vary from a number of factors including, but not limited to: type of flooding, intensity, frequency and duration of rainfall experienced, time of flooding, weather factors including catchment soil moisture content, new building development and changes to or unforseen factors associated with water management infrastructure. Due to this, while the information presented on this website attempts to represent what may be experienced during a flood, actual flood events may differ substantially.
  14. The information displayed on this website does not represent historical flood events which have impacted South Australia. This website does not provide a forecast or prediction of future flood events or provide advice or warnings about future floods that may occur.
